Direct design integration with Plant3D

In the current situation, Revit & Plant 3D work as different entities. We cannot integrity design directly (As possible with AutoCAD MEP fabrication & Recent development in Revit for Smart P&ID integration)

Please raise the idea and give us the possibilities with this new advancement.

Option 1

  1. Revit can build a design model of Piping
  2. For detailed design, Revit Piping can be inserted in AutoCAD plant 3D. where user can assign Piping spec., hangers and Isometric drawings

Option 2

  1. Design model developed in Revit
  2. And Fabrication part feature has the option to adopt the AutoCAD plant 3D component library.
  3. After the building up fabrication model. Autodesk provides advance add-ins to export PCF files for Isometric.

Wait, wait, wait... AutoCAD MEP has integration with Revit?

That is interesting news considering it uses he same sub-set of programming that is ObjectArx / C++ based and used in AutoCAD Architecture and Plant3D.  If they can do that then they should get hopping on allowing full compatibility for all the verticals.
