Type catalogs enhanced to support photometry

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) BIM Standards committee recently created a list of Autodesk Revit enhancement and feature requests based on a membership survey. We have shared a prioritized list with Autodesk and are posting them here, on Revit Ideas, to build community support to benefit the lighting design industry.

Please consider upvoting this Revit Idea.

Description:

Adding a way to include photometric data in a Type Catalog would allow a different photometric file, for each Type, when a Lighting Fixture family is loaded into a Revit project. Perhaps it could help by indicating the relative path (.\Family\IES\...) of the photometric file into the luminaire object. This would benefit both lighting fixture manufacturers creating content and designers consuming Revit family content.

To work properly ancillary files, like .ies, but also including keynotes, material assets, etc, need to be able to be co-located with the model files. This is not a problem on local or network files, but doesn't work for models on Revit Server.

This would be a great idea for Content Catalog to be able to have this functionality if it doesn't already do so.  The IES info is in parameters yes?  So it should be searchable via Content Catalog.  If someone could give that a test, that would be great to know.
