Could you give an example of when it doesn't show all properties, and what properties you hope to see there?  The properties panel shows all instance parameters, and those that are editable are editable, the others are greyed out.  Type properties can only be seen by going to edit type, are those the ones you want to see in the panel?

 

I find it more annoying that everything is shown - there are plenty of parameters controlled by formulas that I'd prefer to only be visible in the family editor or behind an always collapsed header so they don't clutter the properties window.
