Cancel the whole set of printing to pdf at once to save waiting for revit to print a whole set.

When printing to pdf a lot of drawings (e.g.100 number), I sometimes find a mistake (such as a wrong revision date on sheets) and I would like to cancel, but have to wait until the 100 have finished printing. This can wast an hour or so.

When I press cancel, it only cancels one sheet, and wants to keep printing the rest, and this cancelling does not save any time.

Can there be an option to cancel the entire set of prints? It would save waiting for an hour.

Thanks,

Michael Bell

If I had a dollar for all the times I saw someone send 400-500pages to the laser copiers near to my desk, then race across to smash the button over and over to cancel the job.  Unfortunately, at my firm we have a lot of contract workers and it's never usually the same person twice, they all learn the first or second time, but in an office of hundreds that adds up to a lot of wasted trees.

This problem, unique to Revit, is that each page is send as a separate print spool job, rather than as a single print job -- I assume that reduces the printer memory requirements, but invariably leads to other problems, such as print jobs not being able to be easily cancelled, printing jobs stopping midway through because the computer was shutdown/standby after the hit print and went home, or jobs being mixed up by the printer as pages from several different large print jobs got sent within several minutes.

Could we ever expect to see a resolution to this ?  I imagine if Autodesk allowed different application teams to share code or expertise, that would quickly happen -- there are thousands of improvements that could be made to Revit, merely by incorporating code from other software like AutoCAD (honed and refined over 30+ years).

I'm doing this now. I've seen complaints about this since 2014 so the software must be working as intended.

Makes sense in an industry with deadlines and high expectations to have a print/PDF set take anywhere from 10 mins to an hour with no estimated time, or option to cancel.

OH WAIT THAT MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. Anything I assume is fundamental to efficient design is not allowed in the SLOWEST 3D program I've ever touched.

Cancel print potion have ability to choose the individual pages to be cancel. From the plot set, there will be choice to select to proceed / continue with pages as require.

Add a cancel button already. its not that hard. Also allow print in background. While you are at it allow sync in background too. So much wasted time.

Currently waiting for #12 out of 28 to print to pdf.   I indicated one sheet, but Revit must've latched on to a list of 28 sheets.   I smash the cancel button multiple times.  This is the perfect example of wanting to dump a routine and get the program back under my control.   There needs to be a simple, quick way to dump an errant batch routine - and as previous colleagues have suggested - design such things to run in background, leaving the user free to produce content.   Thank you.
