Implement a way to identify/select Vertical Openings in roofs/slabs

We switched to modeling our slabs and roofs which need to be shape-edited (i.e. flat roof insulations, sloped parking slabs, pavements,..) in a very simplified way, so as to include as little corners/points in the floor/roof sketch, as this makes managing a consistent slope much easier. We then cut the superfluous parts away using "Vertical Opening". This works great, only drawback is, that it can get very hard to select the correct vertical opening in a floorplan/3D/section.

What would greatly help, would be the ability to assign parameters to the opening either manually or automatically to define a connection to its host, that is visible to the user. Preferably so, that we can schedule them together with their host.

Alternativly, the ability to select the opening and, via right mouseclick, select its host, or select the slab/roof and "Select hosted Elements".

You can see an Example of a workflow very similar to ours on the great blog "LandarchBim"
