only regenarate modified elements/familys for saving a lot of loading time.
Im working alot with complex shared families (adaptive familys) and it bothers me that revit takes a lot of regeneration time to load the new/exicting familys.
Autodesk need to change the way of regeneration....
Revit is already designed to regenerate only the changed elements. If there are specific models that you have performance concerns with I recommend filing a case with Autodesk support. The individual performance issue can be investigated.
