Structural Connections

Structural Connections need to be available to display under coarse and medium detail levels. Currently they are only available displayed under fine and show greyed out under fine and medium. The reason I say this is that for Structural Engineering Consultants such as my company need to be able to see column base plates in single - line diagrams (fancy words for coarse view). Base plates are important to show because they signify what level columns start on. For example, most columns start at foundation level, however if you have a column - transfer scenario  where a column is founded on a beam mid span, you would show a larger square (baseplate) on a single thick line (single line diagram (coarse view)) which is a beam. At beam intersections is even more important to show a square - if a column base is at a beam intersection - there is no way to tell from plan where the base is unless there is a large square. Albeit, to understand this post you need to be able to understand structural single line diagrams and this practice goes back to the 1920's, and I have trouble understanding why Revit doesn't have this capability. In fact I'm not sure if this can be done with column symbols - this is my next investigation. So long as structural connections can be displayed in coarse view this issue can be completely resolved.

Also - this can also be called symbolic representation. Currently there are no symbols that can be shown in plan view for structural elements, after investigating Connection Symbols, these can only be done in section, elevation or graphical column schedule view.
