Here is a comment gathered from the entire our company:
"We are inquiring as to whether or not its is possible to have piping and piping insulation behave as a single entity.
At the present, moment a pipe and piping insulation behave as separate processes and though anchored to the same point, are independent of each other.
When working with multiple pipes and within busy spaces, hiding a pipe with insulation will hide the pipe in view, but the insulation remains. Alternatively adjusting the visibility graphics can turn of pipe insulation and remove all insulation from the view.
We would like to have this modified so that the pipe and insulation behave in the same manner when applied with a command/rule – ‘Hide Element’ for example. We believe that this would provide greater “control” and provide a design advantage. There would be an advantage to placing a pipe or multiple pipes and seeing the insulation as the pipe is placed; time is saved coordinating spacing and constructability. There would be an additional advantage if we were able to hide a pipe and its insulation together as you are working through spaces but to leave neighboring pipes + insulation untouched for clearance purposes. As it is currently, the pipe is placed and then the insulation can be applied through the commands, or upon synchronization; once placed they behave separately.
Please make it possible that a pipe and its customizable insulation be considered as a single element and editable through the pipe properties (apply insulation - yes/no, insulation thickness – define, insulation type – define, etc), and behave so that commands such as ‘Hide’ and ‘Isolate’ work in unison."
