Better interface consistency

When i want to create an element i activate a Command and place it. But when i want to edit an element i can't activate a Command, select an element an edit it. The opposite is required: first select an element, THEN activate an editing Command and edit it. This is a mental breakup for me. It is just not the same workflow.

The user should not sentient think about such matters. The mental workflow should be always the same: Activate a Command first, then create or edit an element. This is elementary workflow ! When creating/editing dozen floors i need to achieve my goals as fast as possible. I don't want to think about such simple matters, the commands should simply "flow" from the back of my head. Just like in tennis: the player doesn't "think" every reaction, every ball return, the player reacts instantaneously to every ball. It's called trained reaction, consistent workflow every time.
