view range control in callouts

I'm in a plan view and I make a callout for a column detail.  The part of the plan I'm doing this in has plan region for a different view range

HOW EVER

the callout has the primary view range of the referencing view AND I CAN'T CHANGE IT!!  Furthermore, I'm blocked from making a new plan region in the callout.  :cara_con_los_ojos_en_blanco:

I have voted for this idea, however there is an optional solution to this.  Don't use a detail view callout, use a floor plan callout.  The floor plan callout will allow you to change the view range for just that callout.  What it doesn't do though is allow the Show in -  Intersecting Views option.  So you have to choose which you want at this time.

I have an idea on the board for allowing the best of all worlds basically:

Thanks!

You can control the view depth with the far clip options.

You should not be able to change the cut plane as you are showing an area in a referencing plane in greater detail.

If you want to have a different cut plane, then make your callout in a section view and if you want to see it in plane create a callout that references that section.
