It is true you can do that. But as @jordicunillperea mentions: it's a lot more clicks.
Also, if you have a revit link file, and need to hide some of the "linked" walls (That is the case here) you are not able to do this:
Click on a wall -> Right Click -> Select All Instances -> In View / In Entire Project.
Right Click Again -> Hide in View -> Elements
Cause you cannot select all instances.
Bonus info also: This is something that i am doing for a big Engineering company, and are not allowed to change any settings whatsoever, like add view templates or change the existing once.
