Don't make users fix errors to get into a model and show where the errors are...

Ran into this today:  Opening an MEP model where the arch model had been updated. It threw an error that some dimensions were based on elements that no longer existed.  I had to choose between not opening the model and deleting the dimensions.

Now I have an easter egg hunt to look for dimensions that are missing. It would be better to let you ignore or snooze the error.  Another option would be to make the dimensions invalid...

The dialog box wouldn't let me "show" the offending dimensions, I had to delete them all to get into the model.

Agreed, At least allow show.

I like the idea of having an invalid dim that has question marks so we can reconnect kind of like a  tag that looses its host. they come up as question marks that can be selected and then reconnected.

True.

The current solution is to Export that list of errors when you get the error dialog box forcing you to delete the no-longer-valid dimensions.

Then you have to use that list of ID numbers included in the export to find the dimensions by ID in your version of the file that has not yet been updated (where the dimensions still exist.)
