BIS for BIM

BIS is the international standard that defines "SI" units for BIM parameters.

Each parameter starts with a hashtag to identify that it is a BIS unit.

The units are interoperable between platforms.

BIS+ is the global coding standard developed for BIM products for international standardisation.  The language is a simplified coding platform specifically for BIM and allows bi-directional interoperability with other coding platforms.

Some typical examples from the BIS standard are given below:

#FLW - Flow rate (water)

#LG - Length

#WI - Width

The standard was developed by Autodesk following an idea posted on one of its message boards.

So.....what is your idea to make Revit better?

This would obviously make Revit better if you consider it my friend. Any more constructive comments anyone? :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

By adding a # to parameters??....you realize that you can already do this.  If you want that to be your standard go for it.

"Click-to-add-to-formula" would really help me a lot. I mean something like in Excel, when you click on a cell to add it to a formula. But in Revit you would have to click on a parameter name to add it to a formula. Parameters may have  long names sometimes. It's tedious to type parameters names again and again (without any auto-correct).

Just click to click to add. So much time saved, especially for complex families containing many parameters.
