Surface Patterns on Fabrication Parts

At the moment you cannot apply surface patterns through Overrides, Filters, or Object Styles in any meaningful way to Fabrication Parts, specifically ductwork. Our office uses surface patterns to define the lining type and thickness in our drawings. Our current workflow includes exporting the view as a DWG, hatching in AutoCAD and linking it back into the model. Definitely a flawed and tedious process.

With that, I suggest that Autodesk add functionality for surface patterns on Fabrication Parts.

Hello--

Thanks for the suggestion.

Can you provide a sample (attach an image) of what you would expect round, rectangular, and oval ductwork to appear like with various surface patterns?  Perhaps, including a 'key' that indicates what the different patterns mean?

What country are you located in?

Thanks,

MS
