It would be great to have the possibility to create a schedule with a filter by worksets. So you should be able to add the field 'Workset' in a schedule.
The Multi Category Schedules only show Component Families and a few MEP System Families. If System Families was included it would give a Holistic view of the model.

Totally agree.
We use the worksets very active in our use of Revit, eg. to save expired elements out of sight (but available).
E.g. in a project we recently made a lot of beams with 3D reinforcement before the client decided to change everything. We wanted to save these beams in case he changed his mind back again later. Therefor we put them in the workset called "expired".
But this gave us problems in schedules. Therefore it should be available as a filteroption.
Agree, we usually use workset to sort out disciplines, duct, pipe sprinkler in our MEP models. so sorting out all objects in a specific workset in a schedule would be very helpful.
This would help us trying to clean up the mess of families and types with " 1" and " 2" suffixes (created when views are inserted with different family versions - see Add option to select which type to use when inserting duplicate type). We would be able to schedule Detail Components, etc. with the Worksets field to see what views they're in (so they can be cleaned up).

We need this so we can export a single schedule to do our estimation. Revit says it includes everything, but sneakily excludes Walls, Floors, Roof, Ceilings, Stairs and Railings.
I really don't like how it gives the impression that everything is included, but it's not. If you're going to be weird and inconsistent, at least be clear about it.

Speaking of which, annotations are not included or scheduled, but I would like to schedule annotations, so I can track our of standards in a smart BIM manner with automated schedules.
Hello forum moderators. Please merge votes given to this idea , this idea and this idea with the votes given to the idea posted by @Ewoud_Ruifrok (which has the most votes among the four). All the ideas are the same and there is no reason to scatter the votes. I'm sure its possible to avoid "double-votes" in that merge process.
Hello , I dont know if this will work as a workaround, but when you made a material takeoff, the items that dont appear on a schedule show. Its not great for putting parameters into it, but we work that way.
Although I think its necessary that a Multi-Category Schedule could show every item.
Someone in 2008 was already requesting this feature and here we are, 12 years later and nothing has happened. I now need to create weird workarounds to be able to create separate schedules for elements in different worksets. Ridiculous.
This feature will encourage using worksets as layers, which is not a BIM savvy strategy.
We should not need to place model elements onto specific worksets, ever.
90% of the time a team members tell me we need to place some elements on a custom workset I can find a better way to manage those elements, by using categories (and sub), Phases, Options, Links, etc.
Limits to your software and making thing not possible is not the best way to enforce somekind of 'bim vision'. there reallys i nothing wrong with the concept of having worksets. Just make the work better
Yes, please Autodesk. Give us access to ALL of the data and let the users decide what we need and don't need in a schedule. It's crazy that there is all of this hidden metadata that Revit shields from its users. It is our data, let us use it as we see fit.

please make it possible to transfer the workset with "transfer project standard"
@hanslammerts To answer your question about "The Factory", it is referring to the Revit development "factory". Participants in our Preview Release (beta) program are invited to attend "Inside the Factory" sessions and work alongside our teams testing features in development. Hope that helps! Let me know if you would like more information on how to become involved!
I see now. 'Inside the factory' indeed was the respons to the open letter and disappointed users. Still, as Autodesk is bigger than Revit BIM the factory should be more than a marketing reaction for just one of the products. Still waiting for a idea station for AutoCAD. Do consider a 'factory approach' as well.
Thank you, @hanslammerts , actually ITF events have been going on for a very long time (I did my first in 2015). Before that they were called "Revit Gunslinger" events. We certainly appreciate all of the feedback that we get, both positive and negative, and are working to make Revit better all around.
For AutoCAD, the AUGI Wish List is still active and is accessible by the Autodesk teams as well. But I will certainly pass along your request!
Give it a name. At least Revit has more engagement with its users. AutoCAD, that other factory product has zero. Last time i checked that Augi AutoCAD 'wish' list has a obscure payed membership to pass over A WISH to the factory. Augi stands 100% full away from Autodesk itself. What wishes we're implemented? What i'm saying AutoCAD doesn't have any normal feedback channel. Pass that through. Doubt it will change anything.
@hanslammertsI believe "The Factory" is what the original Revit users called the developers even before Autodesk bought them... Also, though there are also paid membership tiers, AUGI basic membership is free, including posting & annual wishlist voting.
@m.voss.alvine There is an issue with the forums. The Implemented status has vanished on several boards. We are working with support to get them restored.
