Zoom 1:1 or 100% option

I would like to see a 1:1 (100%) zoom option so that I can get a feel for working on my drawing in  the same scale as it will print. If I for example work on a floor plan in 1/4" scale (1:48) and in 1:1 zoom I should be able to measure from screen and it would be the same as on paper. This would allow for a more paperless workflow and a lot less test prints.

Since the system knows what resolution is used, it would need the user to input the screen size to calculate the correct dpi and scale.

As I follow up I should mention that I've looked at the 'Zoom to sheet size' command, which intuitively sounds like it should be doing what I want, but either it doesn't work correctly or it does something else as it doesn't even come close to the printed physical scale.

Am I understanding this right?  This is what you want to do?IMG_3494.jpg

Isn't it easier to just drag your view onto a 8x11 titleblock sheet and see what it would look like there?

Next to the designated scale set for a view there could be the current screen scale. This would keep users from losing themselves in too much detailing. Nemetschek Allplan offers that feature (or used to), as does the ifc viewer Areddo. Toggling thin lines (TL) provides a similar way to prevent going into detail but I tend to stick with thin lines all the time.
