@peticid : Thank you for your answer. As for the rebar codes, i have nothing against it if the Revit database makes it easier to manage the content this way. I believe German practice rests my case: if a civilized country like Germany found it fit to name those shapes, who am i to disagree? (English names for rebar shapes should suffice, anybody could use Google Translate for other language).

"Easier rebar commands" is somewhat loose terminology. Certain users may be accustomed to other similar structural (reinforcement) software and (desperately) trying to find similarities or similar modalities of achieving the same reinforcement goals. I've seen Revit extensions like Graitec and Sofistik promising "huge" improvements over the stock Revit, while, in fact, they are mostly creating a easier-to-understand and easier-to-use interface. Those extensions are doing some sort of rebar automation, auto-numbering management, auto sheet creation, auto sections, auto many-things etc. This is basically what Revit newbies are calling "easier rebar commands". Straightforward type of interface, exactly like the one in Revit 2017 (rebar) Extensions menu.

I know that it's all the same from a programmer's point-of-view, but it's quite different from newbie's POV. Especially when comparing Revit with other software like Allplan or Tekla (which are doing all that automation and management by default).
