Thank you for bringing this issue to the table, as it is an interesting topic that we should explore more. We know that rebar shape codes exist in some EMEA countries (like UK, France or Sweden), while in others they don't (like Romania or Russia).  For the latter case, even if the shapes don’t have codes per-se (01,02 etc.), the default shapes available in the Revit content that one installs can be beneficial, by providing basic rebar content to start with in a project, which can be further adapted to match the specifications of the country, company and project.

 

I really like your idea of naming the rebar shapes to describe how they look like, something similar to the German practice too.

Of course, their names should be translated in the language of the target country. And here comes my question to you. Could you please tell me if the country/countries where your projects are located have standardized names for each rebar shape, that are well-known by the construction industry from that region?

 

Can you please also describe me in more details what would you see as necessary to make “easier rebar commands”?
