Make Spaces not dependent upon Rooms

It would be beneficial to have the ability to assign spaces or define the extents of spaces without being limited by the rooms or at least the room separation lines that architects are using in their project.  The reasons being:

1.  In theory rooms and spaces should be the same but in practice Architects frequently utilize room separation lines to divide out every little possible division they can come up with.  We frequently end up with multiple spaces in a room because an architect use room separation lines to divide up the different uses of the room.

2.  The above practice, which we have came across with multiple architectural firms, complicates energy calculations, ventilation calculations, zoning, etc..

3.  At the very least it would be beneficial to have the ability to "ignore" a room separation line that is in a linked Revit model.

In theory you can achieve this by turning off Room Bounding for the Arch link. You then have to draw space separators as you see fit. Less efficient and no fun of course.
