Wall Join: Preference to join to same material

When drawing walls (particularly finish walls) they automatically want to join to other adjacent walls, despite an intersection with walls of the same type and material. Sometimes trimming/adjusting the wall join works, and sometimes it doesn't.  This incorrect model behavior also affects counts and schedules.  Disallowing join also displays incorrectly, since then lines are seen in each corner

Example:

Base wall is metal stud with Gyp.  Finish wall is ceramic tile.  The Ceramic tile wall bypasses the other ceramic tile wall at an inside corner, trying to join with the stud of the ceramic tile wall.

This problem also bugs me, but I have adapted how I place these "interior" wall linings to reduce this happening.

  • If it is a single run, I use the new Allow/Disallow option in the options bar and select disallow
  • If it is all around the room I use a rectangle or...
  • I model the walls away from corners and then go around and trim.

not ideal, but it almost eliminates this really annoying problem.
