Like in AutoCad, there should be an option where the user can pin recently used files on the opening page when loading the program and it being there every time they use it.

The opening screen of Revit used to be semi-useful. In particular recent projects worked and it was handy to pin projects so that they didn't drift off.
Current version of Revit (2019.2) made that page pretty much redundant. Recent models don't actually show recent models, at least not for me. All other shortcuts/conveniences are gone. And everything is HUGE.
Either make that page serve some purpose or just get rid of it. Why do we have to put up with these unwanted and insignificant "features" when there are still so many basic features missing from Revit: keynote editor, ability to align tags and other text objects, useful legends, ability to annotate locked 3D views, the list goes on.
I would love to see this option as well as allowing users to remove recent files that they don't want showing up on the Recent Files screen.
In general, the ability to add, remove, and pin files. Maybe even the ability to rename the shortcuts so if you have a project that has a really long name for some reason you could change the display name to be something more simplified.
Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!
