Allow Numeric Values in "Replace with text" Within Dimensions

There are times when you need to graphically show something for code reasons for permitting, but the actual dimension might be larger. I'm not sure the point in not allowing us to fake the dimension. It seems like autodesk is trying to protect us from doing something thats "not best practice" in revit and I think they should leave that up to us. It just seems like an unnecessary limitation that becomes annoying the once in a blue moon that I could really use it.

Use spaces between digits or a special character to make it non fully numerical. so reader will know it's not a true dimension they can rely onto ! :cara_guiñando_un_ojo:

I would not like they remove this cheater-proof functionality... I would even like they did the same in Acad !

We all had already encounter DWGs with cheated dims that were ruinings our CAD & BIM projects & workflows...

Even in Revit I already have seen people drafting manually dims or tags using text and lines just because they are so used to cheat that they don't mind about the people that will come after them and have to do the modifs afterward and have to manually check what's reliable and what's not !

I understand the situation when cheated dimension can be annoying specially when we are a bunch of designer doing a part of drawings.. and then, if someone was too lazy to revised drawing for 1/4" so he cheated dimensions.. however, I do have a solutions for that...

What about if we double click to change the dimension, and if we change the dimensions for another one, it breaks the dimension line (see example below) AND, there would be an option like for reveal constraints.. but for "reveal cheated dimensions" !! See again, printscreen. Cheated dimensions is really usefull for the time when you have drafting views and you want to represent a 10'-0" long portion of drawing, but you don't want the entire element drawn, only what's important (at both ends, for instance).. 2019-06-18_14h29_32.jpg2019-06-18_14h24_11.jpg

by the way, there is a way to really "look like" it's a real dim.. Double click, go to replace with text.. enter the number you want instead, right click on that number, go to insert Unicode control Character and select Unit Seperator..
