Structural Frames

Allow analytical models for structural elements other than columns or basic "framing". Currently, Revit only allows structural columns and beams to snap to each other when they are explicitly columns and beams. If a structural framing element under the structural framing category of "other" is created, structural beams will not snap to that family. This makes it difficult for objects such as rigid frames, with parametrically bound columns and rafters in the same family, to be treated as rafters and columns.

Ideally, a rigid frame family could be created and purlins, girts, or other rafters could be attached to these frames as if they were individual columns or beams in a project. Currently, a rigid frame can be created but not snapped to (or an analytical model generated for), or individual columns and beams must be attached in a rigid frame fashion with gaps and overlaps.
