Unlock any wall layer on section and plan
Make any layer inside of walls unlockable.
Right now the rules and join conditions embedded inside wall types makes difficult to fully control how each wall joins with other walls.
By improving the walls behavior by making all of their layers fully unlockable, we could for example:
- Have a finish on one side with different top and bottom elevation in relationship with the finish on the other side of the core.
- ...plus different heights for wall base on each side, without using any embedded sweep.
- It would be handy to be able also to fully unlock the layers on the base of the wall because some layers can be used as part of closure of a ceiling system and the interior layers can work for the room where the wall has been placed, in case of a building of different stories and mezzanines or double height spaces.
- Also in floor plan, the joins between assemblies can be very well controlled if the different layers can be unlocked, besides the join rules provided for the wall type, because these sometimes are not enough.
The flexibility of this tool will give us a lot of flexibility while modeling. It would be something great to have for floors and ceilings as well, if the tool can be in fact consolidated into these elements also, and have customizable edges on these, with easy-made real joins and without the current difficulties.
