Revit MEP - Plumbing Isometrics

Please make the plumbing isometric break when another pipe is crossing over the other. in the isometric view breaking the lines is making our drawings look unprofessional. Is there a work around, if you break it on the iso it breaks on the floor plan and looks terrible. Please make this change.

AutoDesk -

Currently the "Gap" settings is for plan, elevation, and section views only. In 3D view Revit does not consider "in front" or "behind" as it does in the other views. This is very important for getting AHJ code officials to accept Revit 3D views as valid plumbing iso diagrms.

I believe this setting hasn't been incorporated yet:

I would very much appreciate it being a feature in Revit.

Thanks,

This is a much needed feature.

Has there been any movement on incorporating this into Revit? Adding this feature will help with creating our construction documents. Thanks!

This has been a point of contention for our Project Engineers. They love the fact that we can use the actual model to develop the isometric but if the systems are too complex the overlapping line makes the view messy when printing. Then we have to revert back to flat risers. Adding Gaps in 3D would very much be appreciated.

Searching on how to do this, I came across this suggestion and the same suggestion being made multiple times over the years. I don't know why having pipe gaps in 3d view hasn't been implemented yet, it seems to be a much wanted feature. It would be a HUGE time saver.

100%. This would be amazing.

I am in WI and as part of our submissions we need to submit and 30/60 isometric which is accomplish easily enough using the 3D feature in revit, however when this is done there are no pipe breaks when 2 pipes appear to intersect. This has caused some confusion for the plan reviewers as they can't tell which pipe is in front or if those pipes do actually cross, we have mostly fixed this problem by setting the isometric to fine detail but with the double line and the amount of detail it can get muddied causing even more confusion. Is there anyway to have the pipes break in 3D views so we can go back to single line isometrics?

I'm just wondering if this is still a problem in Revit 2023 and going forward. It still is a problem in our models but I don't know if I missed some fix (temporary or permanent).

Firm has started a big push from autocad to revit to try to link more among our MEP, civil, and structural engineers.

I cannot believe this is still a feature that is missing. This has been a known issue since at least 2016.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions about how to make decent isometrics in revit please feel free to share. At this point I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place where double line pipes do break but can be a bit of a mess in tighter situations opposed to single line being maybe better but still pretty illegible in dense areas (like a back to back plumbing chase)
