'Hide Links' button similar to the 'Show Mass' button (which overrides v/g)

I often go into my 3D view's v/g settings to hide or show the client's link (or use Temp Hide). This becomes really annoying sometimes. It would be nice if there was a simple toggle that would just turn off the link in the current view (or maybe even all views) temporarily. That way I could still use Temp Hide/Isolate without having it show the link every time I Reset.

I could see it being useful in other views (plans & sections) as well, so it shouldn't be just limited to 3D Views, but I'm not sure if it should be "global"/hide in all views (like "Show Mass") or "local"/view-specific (like Reveal Hidden Elements) - probably better. But as long as I could assign a keyboard shortcut, I'd be happy.

Nice Idea. I would definitely use it in place of what I currently do.

A combination of shortcuts and heavy use of the 'Temporary View Properties' tool in the visual control bar is how I currently deal with this (among similar scenarios) if it helps in the interim.

I have shortcut key [1] assigned to 'Temporary View Properties' (TVP)

I have shortcut [2] assigned to 'Hide in View: Hide Category'

So I hit [1], select a link, hit [2] and its done. I use this method for various things because like you, I don't always want this to be part of my temp hide/isolate I might be doing. It's almost like having two individual hide states. ([1][0] resets everything Emoticono feliz )

I also set up a 'saved selection' for all links. So instead of selecting all links one at a time, I use a shortcut to load my saved 'LINKS' selection, then hit [2] again.

(I swear by TVP, most useful tool in a while).
