View Title Creation: Lines controled by Extension

Please allow me to create lines in my custom View Title family that are based on the length of the View Title's Extension line.

The View Title we use in Acad (used for civil site work) and what we'd LIKE to use in Revit consists of a circle with the view number in it. To the right of that is a line with the View name above it. BELOW that line is a thick line (a LWPOLYLINE with a width in Acad). And finally below that is the view scale.

The two lines need to be the same length and parallel. An example is attached.

also, having a "right" reference plane in the family (like line-based Detail Components) would allow for an easier implementation of view titles like these (where the width/line length varies):

Better yet, how about totally decoupling the view title from the viewport? Rather, let view titles be a ' tag '. Drop views on the sheet and then tag them with view titles. The view title could then be a Viewport-category family with access to all view properties as parameters. We could design any kind of view title with any behavior we like! Further, RFAs could be shared and standardized. It would be way, way nicer than the current hard-wired view title behavior.

@trevor.taylor,

I'd ALMOST be on board with that, I do like how moving the VPort on the sheet also moves the view title though.  Maybe add a setting for the View Title Family "Moves with View" so that when the view is moved, so is the title.

Moving a tagged beam, column, etc. also moves the tag (whether or not it's selected for the move), so that shouldn't be a problem...
