Hello;
I am slotting vertical wall with Woodruff Cutter (Slot Mill). The code is OK, the Part comes OK, but simulation does not recognize the geometry of the Slot Mill - the fact that the cutting diameter is larger then the neck diameter. Actually in the Slot Mill definition (on the Cutter Tab) there is no neck diameter - I defined it by the "Shaft" Tab. So simulation shows the tool correctly, but assumes that there is cutting edge all the way thru the neck (shoulder).
What am I doing wrong with the cutter definition? or is it the bug in the Simulation?
Thanks

Hi @Eli_Dexter,
I'm sorry to hear this is giving you issues - I wasn't able to replicate this on my end, could you post your file here so I could take a look at it? If you don't want to post it publicly, I can give you my email so you can send it to me.
Thanks!

Hi @Eli_Dexter,
Thanks for sending me your file - I took a look and I see what you're talking about. I logged the issue with development so they'll take a look at it.
It seems to only be a problem in "Simulate". Try using the "Stock Simulate" option instead of going into "Simulate" and checking "Show Stock" - it displays correctly there. You can see the difference below:
Let me know if that helps you out!

Actually I am using HSMExpress and Stock Simulate is not available there.
In general I am OK as long as I understand as this is HSM bug. Hopefully it will be fixed. Meanwhile, it is not really an issue as the NC Code and final product produced is OK...
This isn't a bug, it's just the nature of using the Stock option in Simulate. It won't properly simulate multiple jobs either, and as this is only an issue in the Xpress version I wouldn't expect it to be altered anytime soon.
Steinsworks is correct. Think of stock removal simulation in HSMXpress as "stock simulation lite."
Full stock simulation with collision detection, undercutting, multiple setups, etc is available in the full version of HSMWorks.
What name of the operation feature did you use to perform this machining? Because I'm having difficulty performing this type of machining with this milling cutter.

It was 2D Contour. But now I have a full HSMWorks and using Stock Simulation I have no problem with this issue...
