Mesh enabler 1.0.8 download?

Hi there,

we have updated our work stations to Inventor 2019 + Inventor HSM 2019.

The old mesh enabler (1.0.6) doesn't work anymore and i can't download the new one.

No matter if i'm logged in with my account or the account of my boss - there is no download link for the freaking mesh enabler...... Any idea how the get it? Last year it worked, no problems.

And before you ask, yes - we pay for inventor.

Cheers

Hi @Anonymous,

Where do you need Mesh Enabler for?
If you used it for converting CAM Setup stock model to solids and then use that Solid for next setup, then you don’t need Mesh Enabler anymore. It is now possible to program on your CAM data and/or use Mesh files as stock from Solid.

Hi Marco,

yes, I've used the mesh enabler for converting the stock model to solid.

Where can I get some info about the other option?

Thanks 🙂

The way of exporting and importing the stock is the same. Create a new setup and select the Mesh model as stock and the part you are milling as model.

Marco,

I am having trouble when I export my mesh to a separate file it saves in metric and not in inches. I am working with a 3-1/2 inch wide part but when I bring in my stl file for the next operation it pulls in a part that is 88.9 inches wide, not 88.9 Millimeters wide.

What am I doing wrong and how do I correct it?

Thank you

Adam

Hi @Anonymous ,

try first to save a ipt as stl.

Before pressing save within the save dialog, click on options and set the units correct. After that save the file.

Hi Marco

When I try and save the .ipt as a .stl the only thing that comes up when I open the options dialogue box is what view I want to save. Nothing about setting different units of measurement or anything else for that matter. Am I not looking in the correct are?

Also, a second question. Why am I not able to import the mesh to my assembly or .iam file? I make all of my CAM files in assemblies and cannot import the mesh into an .iam file. Is there something different I should try?

Thank you

Adam

Hi @Anonymous,

Try also the Export as stl and then options.

Where do you need Mesh Enabler for when you are using them for CAM

programming and using Mesh models within setup are allowed.

I have to test it to import Stl files into an Assembly. Don’t know if there is an issue.

Use it normally within ipt files. I’m not behind my laptop now.

Marco, I am using the mesh import for my stock representation on all CAM operations after the 1st operation.

I do all of my CAM work in assemblies to properly represent the machine set up for simulation and set up sheet representation.

If you look at the knowledge network or on youtube the video from @griffew called Mesh to machine, that is what I am trying to do.
