The DLL-file from the error-message exist on the right place.
Any solution?
Thanks!
Michael

Did you install Inventor HSM Express 2018 after you installed Inventor 2018?

Yes, i installed Inventor HSM Express 2018 after Inventor 2018.
A new installation of HSM without disabled Antivirus doesn't change anything.

I'm just trying to help. I'm not an installation expert.
But could you see if that file it gives and error on is actually on that path?
Or that it is not there at all?
Another question on the side, where did you download from?

- i registered me on your Homepage an get a link to the download-page. On the 13.04. i got the Build 5.1.0.26
- perhaps there is something wrong with the Inventor-2018-installation. During this i tested the version 2017 - the same error.
- the path:
This should work, but I wonder if there's some problem with a third party dependency.
Can you confirm which build of Inventor 2018 you're using?
We may need to dig in with another tool to get a closer look at what's happening.
Jeff
OK, I just noticed something:
The error message refers to "Inventor HSM Express 2017", while you have HSM Express 2018.
Can you find the .addin file in the directory c:\programdata\autodesk\inventor addins, and tell me what it has in its "assembly" element? Or just post that file here as an attachment.
Jeff
This ist the build 112 of Inventor Prefossional from the Product Design Suite Ultimate 2018

No. Only for a test i deinstalled the HSM Express 2018 an installed the HSM Express 2017.
Now the HSM Express 2018 is installed again.
Here is the part of the addin-file:
<Assembly>C:\Autodesk2018\Inventor HSM Express 2018\InventorHSMAddin.dll</Assembly>
<LoadOnStartUp>1</LoadOnStartUp>
This file exist on this path
Is there a log-file for more informations during the start from Inventor?
No, I don't think there is.
Can you see if there are additional copies of the .addin file -- with maybe an overridden path -- somewhere else on your system?
Typically, Inventor itself may write override files in places like:
c:\programdata\autodesk\inventor 2018\addins
%appdata%\autodesk\inventor 2018\addins

Another thing to try:
Download Microsoft's Process Monitor tool:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processmonitor.aspx
Run this, and set its filter to "Process Name" is "Inventor.exe".
Then start Inventor, and stop logging when you get that error. You can then save, and PM me the log file.
Perhaps I'll see something that points to some other problem than a path in the .addin file.
Thanks,
Jeff
Hello Jeff,
i found the problem. Thanks for your help.
the package PyQT5 is installed on this computer and in the enviroment variable "path" there is the path to "C:\Program Files\Python34\Lib\site-packages\PyQt5" inside.
If i rename the diretory C:\Program Files\Python34 an this path is invalid, HSM works.
I hope the next version of HSM has fixed this with direct references to his own QT5-files.
Michael
Hi,
I'am getting the same error. After the installation there were non of this path environment variables automatically added.
Also the path C:\Program Files\Python34 didn't exist.
I've tried to manually install Python and PyQt5 but with no sucess.
What path-variable exactly do i need?
I'am using the 30-day-demo of Inventor Pro.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you.
Can you try something?
In your PATH environment variable, under System environment variables, at a new entry at the *beginning* of the path:
c:\program files\autodesk\inventor hsm 2018
(wherever the inventorhsmaddin.dll is)
Then start Inventor.
I'd like to know if this resolves the problem.
We are working on an update that should resolve this issue, as well as a number of others.
Jeff
Thank you. It works now, but i needed to restart my computer after adding the variable.
I had the same issue with HSM not loading. When I ran the process monitor I noticed some of the .dll's were looking to be found in the C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor HSM 2018 inventor\R22 directory. When I moved them to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor HSM 2018 Inventor started right up with HSM.
See attachment.
**EDIT
Sorry I meant to say when I moved the .dll's from C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor HSM 2018 to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor HSM 2018\R22 the plug in loaded correctly.
