Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble completeing the Inventor HSM Tutorials 1 & 2. I did everything as explained in the tutorials, however when calculating the tool path I get an error: [Error: Internal CAM kernel error. Please report through your support channel.]. I'm working on a fresh install of Inventor on a Lenovo T430, with WIN10 and an i5-3320m.
Any support is greatly appriciated.

Thanks.

@ch.braun

Inventor HSM has its own forum and you should use that forum for HSM issues.  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm/ct-p/213

I will have the moderator relocate your posting there to best suit your needs.   However I think the issue is related to your pocket operation and I would confirm that you have satisfy the steps as outline in the tutorial that you using.

Yes, I have done everything as described in the tutorial. The error occurred in multiple occassions, and tutorials. I'm confused how I should get around this issue.

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Hi Jeff,

thanks for the quick reply. I attached the tutorial where my 2D pocket fails.

Thanks.

Hi @ch.braun,

I can't reproduce the behaviour, what you describe but as far as I know, it could be that your user doensn't have enough rights to run camkernel-x64.exe, located in the following path: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor HSM 2019" as mentioned in your first post from the log-window.

Another cause could be that your anti-virus software is blocking to run the camkernel-x64.exe.

I would try to give the user local admin rights to see whether the behaviour with this user is the same, and disable temporially your anti-virus software.

I hope my tips helps you, to find the root cause, of your descriped behaviour.

Regrads,

Matthias

Hi @matthias.schindler,

Thank you for your reply. I tried with admin rights, however the error seems to persist. What seems odd to me is that creating other 2D pocket operations worked.

But for you the file with the drill/mill instructions (especially the 2D pocket) did work?

Best Chris.

I see the problem here, too, with your part. I've tried various adjustments to the 2d pocket operation, so far without success. I've raised this with our kernel folks; hopefully they will have some advice.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you let me know which build of Inventor HSM you're using?

We are seeing this problem internally, but not with the latest Development build, which is a pre-release of the upcoming 2019.2 update.

Thanks,

  Jeff

 Hi @jeff.pek,

I'm using

Inventor HSM Ultimate

Build: 6.1.0.15056

Is this the software version, that you also found to produce this error? Should I just upgrade once the revision is online, or what would be the procedure?

I really appreciate your effort. Thanks!

Hi -

There was an update to that release from early August, which should be available in the Desktop App and Accounts page. We are also getting ready to release an update in the next week or so. An early version of that release is available on our "Development Build" page: https://cam.autodesk.com/download/inventor-hsm-experimental.
