Help to do this operation

Hi!

I would like to remove that eccentric volume.

Using a turning machine, with milling capabilities in y axis

Trying to do the finish operation, but is not finishing all the part.

What i'm doing wrong?

Is this the better approach to do this part?

Hi Carlos

Adaptive and pocketing strategies are used for roughing. Their advantage is that they automatically find the space for material removal based on a comparison of the model with the stock, and one of their features is built-in tolerance for rests and inaccuracies.

I think that a simple Contour 2D strategy with the wrapping option indicated will be enough for this task.

I also removed the stock material because defining a virtual resource makes it easier to select edges and surfaces when creating toolpaths.

I also changed the cutter to a straight cylinder, because such a tool will not leave rounded edges after machining.

Does this machining program meet your requirements? Did you have other goals for this project?

Unfortunately, this process will not work using a 12mm tool...

Any idea?

Sure, you can add more passes.

In the next steps, I also showed how to extend the path and how to remove unnecessary auxiliary movements in this case.
