G5.1 turn on and off per operation?

Is there a way to turn on and off G5.1 smoothing per each individual operation? I know my Fanuc post has the smoothing option that turns on G5.1 but that is all operations on(G5.1Q1) or all operations off(G5.1Q0). I would like to be able to turn it on and off per operation. Has anyone found a way to make this happen? Any input is greatly appreciated.

That's pretty tricky since you will need to cancel the Tool Length Compensation to do that. (So G49)

Why do you want this? Fo accuracy reasons?

Laurens,

The main reason I want to turn this off is that we have a new YCM NSV 102A that is very slow when G5.1 is on and is very fast when G5.1 is off. so on my roughing operations I want to just let it go as fast as possible using an adaptive path with high feed rates. But then when I finish I want the accuracy back on and this part uses the same tool for both operations. I'll have to look at my current posted code to see if it is handling the length compensation correctly.

In my searching I have not found a quick way to turn it off and on via the software. I'm hand editing the code now, and was looking to automate this as not all our shop guys have the ability to do this. I was hoping to be able to post clean code so I don't have to worry about someone having to edit the code by hand.

I was really hoping there was a check box in the operations kind of like leave stock. This check box could trigger the post to turn on and off the necessary codes to handle the g5.1 being active for only the paths that the accuracy of G5.1 is needed. I'm guessing that this is not a common request so it is more of a personal wish than anything. I may put this in the Ideas area to see if anyone else has any need for this type of control of the G5.1 function.
