Error: Zclearance is too low for surface zhi (zclearance >= surfacezhi)

I'm getting this weird tool path error, it seems only to happen with adaptive clearing.  None of the heights are different as compared to operations that are able to successfully generate a toolpath.  Nothing I do to the heights makes this error disappear.

Has anyone experienced this?

Actually, I think I've found a bug.  How does one go about reporting?

What software are you using?

I'm using Fusion 360.  It's also very possible that I don't know what I'm doing.  A very similar issue is preventing me from setting up a machining job. The way I got around the initial problem in start of this thread was to delete some other bodies.  Even though I had chosen in my setup to use the model as my stock, somehow Fusion 360 was paying attention to other bodies that I wasn't intending to machine.


Now I have a very similar problem setting up my stock around the body I want to machine.  I can't use the Fixed Size Box, because the center is way off.  Fusion 360 CAM is paying attention to bodies that are hidden. 

I've also tried Relative Sized Box, and use the offsets to get my part oriented around the stock.  That's a no-go either because I need to place the origin on my model, but Fusion 360 thinks my model begins on the extremity of a body that is hidden, one that I don't care to machine.  Unfortunately, I can't just delete that, otherwise it destroys the part I do want to machine. 

Not sure what's going on!

I'm guessing that your stock is taking into account the hidden parts because it selected them by default. If you go into your setup you should be able to select only the body you want to machine as your model.

Thanks, that fixed it.  Weird that it even though under the Model section nothing is selected, but in reality everything seems to be selected. 

It might be a helpful to make the Model a mandatory selection, in the same way that Tool is.

If nothing is selected it defaults to looking at everything, which I think is bad practice because it confuses new users the first time they have extra bodies that shouldn't be included in the job.  It should require at least one selection.  OR, if it's going to automatically look at all bodies it should fill in the selection to indicate that all bodies are included.

Hi, unfortunately this does not rectify the problem as I am experiencing it. My issue is with a model which has generated a good toolpath previously then the error appeared after trying to change the tool (now the original tool also receives the error), have tried selecting only one object and to heavily restrict the planes and settings but no change, I suggest this may be a bug
