CNC is cutting above stock

I have generated gCode to work with mach3. I am using 2d facing milling and I have my top height set to stock height. On my CNC machine I set zero to the top of my stock however for some reason when the operation runs on my cnc machine it it facing operation is not cutting the stock its trying to cut about 0.5 inch above the stock

What do you have set for bottom height?
It should be set for model top.

I guess your material is 0.5 thick?

 

Where did you put your cam setup origin?

did you ever find a solution for this?  running into the same issue.  my cnc is cutting about 4-6MM above the stock.

 

any help would be appreciated.

  1. Hi, i am putting in the "bottom hight" model bottom and the machine is starting above the stock (for 3-4 rounds) can you explain why i should put "model top" instead?

Why should i put model top in the "bottom hight" tab? What should i put in the "top hight" tab?
