Chamfering depth issue when model top ≠ stock top

Description:
I am having an issue with chamfering and I’m not sure if this is a bug or expected behavior. I am not very experienced with InventorCAM/Fusion, so I’d like to check with the community.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Place the model 1 mm below the stock top.

2. Create a Facing operation (upper level = stock top, lower level = model top).

After facing, the part top is flush with the model top.

3. Create a Chamfer operation:

Upper plane = model top

Chamfer width = 0.2 mm

Tool offset = 1 mm

4. Simulation shows the chamfer correctly.

5. In the generated G-code, however, the tool plunges to 2.2 mm instead of the expected 1.2 mm.

Additional info:

Tested with several different postprocessors → same result.

The same behavior occurs in both InventorCAM and Fusion.

If I place the model top at another offset relative to the stock, the chamfering tool always goes too deep by exactly that offset.

Actual machining also shows the chamfer is too deep (not only in the G-code).

Workaround: If I create a separate setup where model top = stock top, everything works correctly.

Question:
Is this expected behavior (maybe by design), or is it a bug in InventorCAM/Fusion?
