CHAMFERING A PART PROFILE

I am trying to chamfer the outside profile of a part, as shown in the illustration I've attached. It seems like no matter what I do, the toolpath wants to round the edges, instead of keeping crisp corners... What am I doing wrong???

I turned cutter comp off, and it worked.. I guess its a good thing we don't re-grind our chamfer tools.

Even though I found a work-around, it would be nice if I could use control comp for this type of toolpath. Any suggestions on what I can do there?

If you use 2D contour instead of 2D chamfer using the same chamfer mill, it gives you the option of rolling around contours or keeping corners sharp. I don't know why they added the 2D chamfer icon, when 2D contour does the same thing.

2D Chamfer has cutter avoidance, allows you to specify how far the cutter stays away from 3D geom., 2D contour doesn't, you have to creater 2D geom for avoidance.
