CAM Simulation Error

So I'm getting these egregious collisions with my model and can't figure out why they are happening.

I have restarted Inventor, restarted my PC, deleted and reloaded the file from Vault, and none of them have made a difference.

After restarting, the collisions are now in different locations than previously and there are more of them.

Any answers to solving this would help greatly.

Cheers!

Hello @jbthornhill and thanks for submitting your issue to the forum.  There is certainly some erratic behavior going on, as when I test your file on my machine the collisions appear in different areas.  As I roll my cursor of the collision in the simulation timeline, I do notice that it mentions the shaft of the tool being the cause of the collision.

This may be a tolerance issue within simulate as when I change the shaft diameter to be farther away from 2" (from 1.98" to 1.5") the collisions to not occur.

As a workaround, for the time being, can you lessen the tool shaft diameter?  I hope this helps for the time being.  I will investigate this a bit further with the development team and get back to you with what I find out.

Thanks again and have a great rest of your week!

After restarting, and reducing the tool shaft diameter, it doesn't appear to be an issue for the time being. I'd still like to see this get a better fix though, because my stock should NOT be touching the tool shaft at all.

Cheers!
