Hi there,
In my model, I have a requirement for a back chamfering operation.
I want to use this back chamfer tool from Harvey (http://www.harveytool.com/ToolTechInfo.aspx?ToolNumber=943410-C3).
So I created a new form tool in Solidworks following a few youtube tutorials, to match the dimensions and revolve the tool. It seems to have picked up the tool within the HSM tool library correctly and I was able to add the tip diameter and some dimensions to the tool.
As this is a back chamfering tool, I would like to offset the tip of the tool just like a normal chamfer tool (I use a spot drill to break edges/define a 45d chamfer), however when I add this tool to a contour operation, it doesn't come up with the tip offset dialogue box and defaults to the tip of the tool on the tool path.
Is there a way to offset the tip? Is there a dialogue box I'm missing?

You can use "Stock to Leave" in 2D Contour
Set "Radial stock to leave" to a negative number and set "Axial stock to leave" to the same thing.
By the way instead of creating a form tool, you coul create a "Dovetail" tool. But the offset problem remain.
