Post-processor specific to Bridgeport BOSS 6 controller

Post-processor specific to Bridgeport BOSS 6 controller

(I apologize in advance that I double-posted this same topic in the HSM Post-processor forum...)

Hello all! I am new to the forum & new to CNC.

I am trying to get a (new-to-me) Bridgeport Series 2 CNC with BOSS 6 to run with part programs from the Fusion360/Inventor HSM generic Bridgeport post-processor. After examining & trying some post-processor files, it is readily apparent that the generic B'port post has a lot more letter addresses/functions than the 1980s vintage BOSS 6. Therefore, CAM routines out of either Fusion360 or HSM (& post-processed machine files) don't run correctly.

I am a Mechanical, not aS/W engineer, so trying to learn how to modify the generic B'port post-processor is very daunting. Paul Klass (Autodesk CAM Community Forum) suggested I post the issue here (& also on the HSM Post-processor forum) to see about getting a BOSS 6 specific post-processor (adaptation or creation). He indicates that Autodesk Post-Processor development team members frequent this forum.

Rather than me try to write out the details of the BOSS 6 programming manual,  I found a copy of the manual (May 1980 version) online @ --

http://cncmanual.com/bridgeport-boss-m-139a-series-ii-programming-manual/

I have a November 1981 version of the B'Port Series II CNC Programing Manual. A quick comparison of their descriptions of programming formats, G-, M- & Miscellaneous codes shows them to match (to my non-programmer's eye). In both manuals, Chapter 5 details out the letter/number codes function & syntax. In both, Chapter 6, covers repetitive programming (loops & macros), And Chapter 7 provides a programming example.

Does anyone have an interest in looking at this issue?

Thanks and best regards,

Moving to "under review" in advance of separating out the post ideas from the general software requests. This was a batch process. So, this particular idea may still be archived.
