Mazak QT200MY Mill Turn Post Processor

Mazak QT200MY Mill Turn Post Processor

Hi,

I feel this would be a useful addition to the Post Processor library as mill turn posts and in particular Mazak are not well represented in the library. Mazak are a mainstream engineering brand and offering more posts for this, in particular mill turn, will help Fusion 360 expand beyond the hobby level and compete with top end CAD/CAM packagaes such as Solidworks/SolidCAM etc.

Thanks!

Agree 100 percent. I use Autodesk for my mill but have other software for Mazak this Is for older fusion control. 640mt. I do have a post someone gave me but it has bugs.

@Matabele  @safeharbor74

I used the Integrex Post processor as a starting point and changed a few things is still very much only a starting point though. I could not get the Y Axis milling to work and could not mill on the C Axis either but as far as the turning side on my control seems to be working with still a lot of work needed. Still have to manually edit program in taking out G43, and changing my tool number output.

I've tried engraving on the "nose" but my y values seems to be out with a ratio of 0.5. This is a relationship issue which I would like to fix but not sure where in the post processor to change this, any pointers will be appreciated. Will include my Post if anyone would like to try this out.

Hi Marius,

Many thanks for sharing your post, as you have it at the moment, much appreciated! I have also had a go at trying to amend the Integrex post, but I just don't have enough hours in the day to figure everything out and then test it on the lathe...plus I have no idea what I'm doing! Hopefully Autodesk will put us out of our misery and supply a post for these machines.

Thanks to everyone who posted, spread the word!

Cheers

Yes, a post proccesoor for Mazak mill turn would be very beneficial. I have limitations using the Mazatrol programming language.

Hi dear colegues,

We have an mazak QT200M machine and we wolud like to programe it via HSM. For the basic turning operations I start with the basic FANUC turning post, and the generated NC code works.

But we want to use also turn milling on it, so I am wondering if someone have the post for the similar machine?

Thanks in advance!

Yes! Currently using generic Mazak mill post for 3 Axis Mazak Mill but would be very helpful to have a post for the Quick Turn will Milling as well, currently have to program everything conversationally!

Nobody forces you use a postprocessor made by Autodesk? I have helped multiple customers with their Mazak millturn postprocessor, that I developed in collaboration with the customer. That is how it normally with every CAM system goes. With HSM/Fusion you are lucky there are some post (for example the Haas post) that work out of the box. But to be honest, in the 6 years I'm building post, except for the Haas machines, I build a customized post. Partly on user request, but most of the time because 2 identical machine do not work with the same post perse. Where do you live? You can contact you local Autodesk CAM specialist

Worked Great! Turning and Milling! A couple notes.. How would I best go about adding a bar stock out to the program as we have a designated tool position with a stop in it that we run manually currently.(run program stop to position then open door and manually unclamp chuck pull bar to stop by hand then close chuck, run rest of program).. This position is referenced off the set up page in the machine so it would be nice to have it pull data from there...

One more quick thing there seems to be an issue with the drop down menu as you go to post your program, there are so many options they run off the bottom of the screen and theres no scroll bar, (I checked a different post and there was a scroll bar on that one. The post I'm using is Mazak Quick Turn 250 MY.. I have attached a screenshotScreen Shot 2020-04-24 at 11.41.22 AM.png

Thanks Again!
