VSC/Autodesk Post Processor Ext./'new debugger'?

Was editing some post processors recently when I 'stumbled across' a setting called 'new debugger'. Screen changed dramatically, showing multiple windows with input code, G-code output, .cps file listing and several windows for Properties, variables, and a mysterious 3D view space. Started looking around for 'user manual' for the new editing environment but could find nothing anywhere in the program help or online about this feature.

So the question is: do I need a National Security clearance to find/view information about this environment? Or is there some secret handshake required? Any info much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @fredsi

we have not created any content on this feature, before.

So, there was not secret to hide or protect.

But here are some explanations on this feature.

newdebugger.png

  • (A) Contains the NC stream display. It’s slightly different than the dumper post output, but it is related. The dumper post output is a user-friendly text describing the content of the NC stream. That output is more like the programmer version of the NC stream, it may or not directly relate to the functions that will be called.

One difference for example, dumper post will display a onCircular information, whereas here it’s displaying onCWArc, or onCCWArc. onCircular can be found in a post, not the onCWArc function.

  • (B) List the format defined by the post.
  • (C) List and eventually highlight the variable(s) used in a block.
  • (D) Display the function call stack from the entry function till the deepest call (generally writeBlock)
  • (E) Display the post source code.
  • (F) Display the value for some properties.
  • (G) NC output used to show and navigate the gcode and the debugger.
  • (H) 3d view for the posted code. Correct for milling. It can be rotated when clicking in this view.

If you click a line in A, it will highlight it in G, and the segment in H will turn white.

If we click a line in G, it will highlight in A and H similarly, but it will also update the function(s) call stack in D, and the variables in C.

If we click in the call stack D, E is updated to show the function, centered on a specific line.

Regards
