Roland RML post processor issue

Hi,

I was using HSMXpress in SolidWorks 2016 and the Roland RML post processor worked fine. Recently I have upgraded to SolidWorks 2018 SP3 and now Roland RML post processor fails to process... I get the following message in a text file in addition to the failed nc file:

"

Your desired spindle speed is out of range.

I noticed this issue a few times when trying out the new Machine Configurations in Fusion - there's a lot of default values that will cause errors if you don't update them, and the default spindle speed is 10k RPM. Worth checking the machine config, if you have one set up / in use.

Thank you for the replies. I changed the settings but unfortunately this didn't solve the issue.

I can post with the same settings using the Roland ISO post processor. It's only the RML which doesn't work...

The minimum and maximum spindle speeds depend on the choosen machine type.

  case "mdx-15/20":
    rapidFeed = 15.0 * 60;
    step = 0.025;
    sMin = 6500;
    sMax = 6500;
    break;
  case "mdx-40":
    rapidFeed = 50.0 * 60;
    step = 0.01;
    sMin = 4500;
    sMax = 15000;
    break;
  case "mdx-50":
    rapidFeed = 60.0 * 60;
    step = 0.01;
    sMin = 4500;
    sMax = 15000;
    break;
  case "mdx-540":
    rapidFeed = 125.0 * 60;
    step = 0.01;
    sMin = 3000;
    sMax = 12000;
    break;

There will be an updated version of the post with improved error messages available shortly:

This may be a daft question but how do I select the correct machine type?

For the Roland RML post you can select it as one of the user properties when posting out:
