Hey,

I've got a question about rapid movements in drilling operation. Every time I generate a program there are rapid  movements beetwen holes. That's a little dangerous for me as I'm a student cause it is so fast i can't see movements of the tool. Can I change it on my own in inventor to delete the rapid movements?

regards

What post processor are you using? And what machine do you have access to?

Most machines you can limit the rapid speed quite easily at the machine.

I don't think we can change a setting without doing any modifications to the post processor.

I use generic Fanuc.cps, the machine is quite old it's Mori Seiki Mv-junior with Fanuc 10M. For me it's forbidden to change the settings of machine, but that what You said seems to be really good solution. I will ask my superiors to do that

You know there just is a knob on the control on the outside that sets the rapid right?

Just turn it to 0 or 25%.

Usually 0%, 25%, 50% and 100% are your options.  0% is a set speed, 25%, 50% and 100% are the corresponding values of the maximum rapid.

Hey everything works great. We change the parameter 1420 in Fanuc controller and max feedrate is now reduced so we don't have to change postprocessorSmiley LOL and now I can see everything clearly what machine is doing.

Really thanks for your help

I have additional question maybe You will know the solution. Quite often I have alarm in the machine "Over tolerance of radius" and machine stops maybe You know why this alarm go out from the machine?

Do you use In computer, wear or in control compensation when this happens?
