Figured I'd share the post I made up for our old Hurco Hawk 30 mill, maybe there's another one operating somewhere that will benefit from it. Made this by taking the generic Hurco post and simply tweaking it until it jived with our machine, every edited line is denoted by a "//E" tag for ease of finding later.

I do also come with a question, which I'm don't know if is related to the post, or the machine itself, but I've attempted to give it an absolute move to a home position in the past and never got it to work. I know I tried the "absolute move" G-code yet it would still make relative moves (Throwing it out of range depending on the program), but trying to make it a bit faster for our operator just hasn't quite worked out. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

EDIT: Also pretty relevant, but it's using an Ultimax 3 controller. And there's only 1 person in the USA certified to service this model of mill.

Thank you for sharing!

It might make sense to use G53 (machine coordinate system) to move to your home positions.
You can hard code these positions into your post.
G53 does not change (usually) and is part independent, so you shouldn´t get out of range problems.

Unfortunately, this machine lacks a G53 code, however today we did learn of another issue that you might be able to assist with.
With HSM we've only done aluminum work so far so we didn't realize the issue as our feedrate was high, but now that we're milling stainless steel it's become apparent. With every cycle, the mill moves to the correct X and Y, moves the Z to the clearance plane, moves the Z to the retract plane, and then feeds all the way to the bottom of the hole, instead of moving the Z of the feed plane before feeding. I haven't been able to really figure out a way to make it work how I want it to, and I've included a sample to make it more clear.
