hi,

is there a way to get the info for post-process that the 3d-adaptive is in a new area?
i would that the post is write an M0 when the cutter is in a new area, before motion in Z, it's all pretty closely in the field.
or is the only way, to split this operation in four?

a picture in the hope this explains what I mean.

thanks in advance

mario

Interesting.. Would be good to see what people come up with. The only thing I could think of would be to check for when it moves to retract height, cant think of any other way.. but in the picture below that wouldn't work 😞

There is nothing that actually splits the toolpath between the area's. So if you use full retraction yo-u can't use the retract height either because you will get a million M00's.

If on all these places the toolpath needs to be the same you could use a duplication pattern and that will be easy to see in the post so to output a M00 in between the different area's.

Unfortunately, the tool path is not always the same. On the picture is not to see the stock.

It is a pity, was hoping that the cam-kernel is writing an parameter or so, in the tool path when he detect a new area, since there is an option on the strategy tap "order by area".

Thanks

Well the order by area causes the path to look like that but for the toolpath the area's that need to be cut are still the same. They are all the same for the kernel.

Sorry I had a quick look but this doesn´t seem to be possible. There is no unique identifier for different areas.

no problem, was only an idea, while I was standing on the machine, nervous fingers on the override and waiting for the next area.
the view on picture shows the backside, I must in the machine to make sure that it is safe.
Waiting for 3d-adaptive is done can be a long time with nervous fingers.  😉

Thanks to all
