This is specifically for Fusion360 (and maybe InventorHSM)
Many times when a tool path is taking too long to generate I will open and edit it to see if I can make it generate faster. But when you do this it doesn't automatically abort generation. It keeps going with the old parameters even though the result will just be thrown out when it regenerates with the new parameters. This makes sense if you cancel any changes, but if you accept them it keeps calculating with the outdated parameters.
To keep this from happening I have to go into the CAM task manager and manually abort the path generation and THEN edit the parameters. If you forget to do this you can tie up your CPU for a VERY long time while it chugs away calculating invalid paths.
