"Select same diameter" in thread/circular/bore operation

When I have a lot of holes, it would save me tons of time to have a "select same diameter" option in the thread/circular/bore operations as I have in a drill operation.

Sometimes I choose a Drill cycle to do a circular pocket or a bore, but the cycles have no option for "in control". This would be a real timesaver.

Agreed. Being able to use in control when boring a hole with a tight tolerances is always useful and it would make life easier if you could have the select same diameter hole in the boring op.

The main issue is that its a mill operation not a drill operation. If you insert a drill op and change it to thread mill you can use the select same diameter option. BUT you wont get all the good options that are in the thread mill operation. I'm not saying it shouldn't have the select same diameter option just noting the difference between them and what was said when we asked for this over the years.

It turns out that it’s not actually a simple feature to implement. The drilling operation is built on functionality that is able to do this sort of hole detection, and the bore, circular, and thread operations are not built on the same functionality. This is one of those cases that looks like a simple checkbox to add, but requires a complete reimplementation of the toolpath. It’s still something we want to do, though.

The other option is to implement support for CAD parameter input into the CAM parameter fields. Then we could use the drill cycles to do this and maintain associativity to the model when the diameter changes.

It would even help if the drilling cycles are able to see hole diameter. At the moment a circular pocket cycle needs a diameter by hand.

Thank goodness. We are working on a project right now that has milled holes to the tune of a couple thousand per sheet. We had one of our poor guys spending days on selecting holes one by one up to this point. This improvement has literally saved us days of work. Thank you Autodesk!
