Fixture avoidance in 3D Toolpaths

Fixture avoidance in 3D Toolpaths

How nice would it be if fixtures actually would be avoided in 3D operations.

Seems like this shouldn't be too difficult since most of these operations already have Shaft & Holder collision avoidance.

Does avoid/touch surface not do the trick for you?

How about Adaptive?

How about Pocket?

How about Multi-axis toolpaths?

How about flow?

True. Maybe this is more about how to define what to machine in a 3D operation. I would like to see a field where we can select avoid, and where we select touch, and of course this would go for all 3D operations.

You can't really expect an avoid surface in 3D Adaptive. How would it know how to stay clear of it? I mean it could be a flat vertical or horizontal face those would be easy but a curved surface you can't expect the system to work that way.

That's why we have boundaries, and if they worked in Inventor HSM and Fusion 360 like they do in HSMWorks, just clicking faces your problems would be very easily solved.(I say make a idea and I'll vote for it, that has been promised but they put it on the back burner and that's dumb since it's one of the best things of HSMWorks.)

This here is just another things that needs to be fixed.

Thanks Laurens for this!

Thank you @Laurens-3DTechDraw for suggesting this. This would make the workflow a lot more intuitive and smooth things out quite a bit
