3D Radial Milling

3D Radial Milling

In 3-D RADIAL MILLING how about you make it so you can go CLOCKWISE or COUNTER-CLOCKWISE.

This is a handy toolpath feature to have so you can always be climb milling if you need to.

This is something MASTERCAM has had for years and you simply put in a negative value for the direction you want to go.

You can already do this using One Way, Other Way, and Up or Down Milling selections.

Can you please send me an example of RADIAL MILLING going clockwise?

Which software do you use?

Sorry, I believe I was mistaken. I can't get it to go Inside->out in a clockwise fashion. You can get it to always climb by going Outside->In but that's different.

Didn't try in Inventor HSM but I have no reason to believe it's any different than Fusion 360.

A workaround though would be to have a plane pass through your center point and add the toolpath to a Pattern, select Mirror, select your plane, and unselect Keep Original. Just tested and this works in both HSMWorks and Fusion 360.
